My name is Jessica, owner of Hartwork Cookie Co. I started this business in summer of 2020. After 3 years of balancing cookies with my full time job in education as a school guidance counselor, God made it clear in 2023 that it was time to hang up my counseling hat and tie on the apron to go all in with full time cookies! To anyone who has ever purchased something from me or simply spread the word, you have played a big part in why I was able to take this leap. And 2 years later, we're still going strong- thank you!

When I decided to leave education, Hartwork had grown to a point in which I could no longer balance both jobs. Leaving a career in the school was a big decision, especially because I love being in the classroom and teaching! When I started teaching cookie decorating classes, I realized I didn't have to choose; I could incorporate my love for both cookies and teaching through this business! Once I discovered this, I knew cookies were a viable option for me to be able to blend all of my passions into one.

 

And since then, Hartwork has grown into so much more than I could have imagined. In July of 2025, a new line of cookie cutters was launched, and it has been such a joy to see cookiers all over the world using these designs in their own homes and businesses. 

 

One thing I have learned in the last 2 years of running Hartwork full time is that change is inevitable. I never thought this business would be where it is today, and I can't wait to see how we continue to grow and expand. 

A little bit about me on a personal level- when I'm not knees deep in cookie dough & royal icing, I enjoy reading, church, exercising and spending time with friends and family; but give me some cookies, a piping bag and a great podcast, and I will be content for days at a time!

My faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing about me. I don't consider this to be my own personal business, but His. And I am so very thankful to have been given the opportunity to steward Hartwork with the hope that through it, I can be a blessing to others and bring joy to many.
